French Roulette — play free online in Canada

Single-zero roulette with the La Partage rule: when the ball lands on zero, even-money bets lose only half. That halves the house edge on red/black, odd/even and high/low to 1.35% — the best odds in roulette.

How to play French Roulette

French roulette runs on the same 37-pocket wheel as European roulette, but with one rule that changes the maths: La Partage. If the ball lands on zero, all even-money bets (red/black, odd/even, 1-18/19-36) return half the stake instead of losing it all.

Half of 2.70% is 1.35% — the lowest house edge of any standard roulette bet. Inside bets, dozens and columns are unaffected and keep the normal 2.70%.

This demo applies La Partage automatically. Place a red or black bet, wait for a zero, and watch half your stake come back. Some casinos offer En Prison instead, which locks the bet for one more spin — the long-run value is the same.

French Roulette tips from the table

  • Stick to even-money bets to get the 1.35% edge. Inside bets stay at 2.70%.
  • Learn the French call bets (Voisins, Tiers, Orphelins). They are standard on these tables.
  • Minimums are often higher on French live tables, so plan your bankroll accordingly.
  • En Prison and La Partage have the same long-run value, so either rule is fine.

Common mistakes Canadian players make

  • Assuming La Partage applies to dozens or columns
  • Playing European tables when a French one is available in the same lobby
  • Confusing the French layout labels (Rouge/Noir, Pair/Impair, Manque/Passe)

Live vs RNG French Roulette

FAQ

Does La Partage apply to every bet?

Only to even-money bets. Inside bets, dozens and columns still lose in full on zero.

Which Canadian-facing casinos have French roulette?

Look for tables named French Roulette, Roulette La Partage or Gold Vault Roulette at Evolution; most of the brands in our table carry at least one.

Is French roulette the best roulette game?

For even-money betting, yes — 1.35% is the lowest edge you will find on a standard roulette bet anywhere.
